This video walks you through a project to set up a circuit using a micro:bit. The touch sensors on the bottom of the board act as the electric path. Since human bodies can conduct electricity, it uses a person to make an on/off switch for the circuit. When a person holds on to both alligator clips, the circuit is closed and the electricity can travel. When they let go of one alligator clip, the circuit is open and the flow of electricity stops. There is a little bit of easy programming to change the image on the screen depending on if the circuit is opened or closed circuit.
Use it for an enrichment activity to go along with a science class on Energy or Electricity, or to illustrate the Science and Engineering Practice of Planning and Carrying out an Investigation.
